Pehtutova spominska plošča

You can find a memorial plaque to Farmer Pehtut at the entrance to the Pehtut house, located by the road through Dovje in the direction of Jesenice.

Ivan Brence-Pehtut was a firm farmer who did not obey military orders. During World War II he did not want to give his cattle to the Austro-Hungarian army for military purposes. Pehtut was worried about his farm and his family’s survival, and he did not change his mind although there were many who tried to persuade him to give the cattle away. The soldiers took him to prison. During the court procedure he said: 'I said what I said,' and afterwards he was shot.
