Welcome in the world of Triglav fairytales!

Julian Alps and Triglav national park

The Julian Alps are the highest mountain range in Slovenia. The highest mountain is Triglav (2,864m). The majority of the Julian Alps area is included in the Triglav National Park POVEZAVA.
The Trigav National Park takes its name from the highest mountain in Slovenia, Triglav (2,864m). It is a symbol of the Slovene identity and is featured in our national coat of arms and on our flag.
The primary purpose of the TNP is the protection of the natural landscape and the conservation of the cultural hertitage. The environmental features are an attractive but sensitive visitor destination; as such they have to be protected and preserved for future generations.
